How do I get carbon neutral shipping for protected orders?
Route is covering the cost to neutralize shipping emissions when customers order "Green Package Protection" at checkout. "Green Package Protection" Shipping includes package protection at the same cost as before, with the additional benefit that your shipment is carbon neutral. When customers shop from any Route merchant with package protection, they’re automatically taking instant climate action – no donation required.

What if I want to have carbon neutral shipping covered for all of my orders?

How does carbon neutral shipping work?
We’ve partnered with Patch, a carbon credit marketplace, to facilitate the purchase of carbon credits to neutralize your emissions. Carbon credits represent a certified unit of carbon removal or avoidance delivered by environmental projects that we can purchase to naturally remove carbon from the air. Patch allows us to invest in high integrity carbon removal projects that are vetted and certified by organizations like Gold Standard, Verra, Climate Action Reserve and The American Carbon Registry.

Why did we choose this project?
The FNL agroforestry project has transformed degraded grassland into a landscape of biologically productive corridors that produce financial, social and environmental services for the region. Intersecting with reforested areas, a "mosaic" landscape is created that allows the protection of wildlife. The area has seen the return of species believed to be extinct or endangered, including: the Puma, the Maned Wolf, the Tapir, the Pampas Deer, the Giant Anteater and the beautiful Hyacinth Macaw.

What if I already have a carbon neutral solution?
That is great! Route’s Green Package Protection can be used alongside your existing solution. But, if you would prefer to not use Green Package Protection, you can reach out to our Merchant Support team to turn it off. To contact our team, click “Need Help?” in the bottom right hand corner.

How will this impact my shoppers checkout experience?
Short answer, there won't be any impact to the shopper experience at checkout. Green Package Protection will come at the same cost to your shoppers as it currently does on your site.

Will Green Package Protection cost anything for me?
Nope! The addition of Green will not cost extra for you or your customers. The cost to protect packages against loss, theft, and damage will remain the same!

How will I be able to see the impact that this is having?
You can log into your Route Dashboard > Admin Tab > Carbon Neutral Shipping to view the impact that Green Package Protection is having on our planet. If you have any questions, please contact merchant support at the “Need Help?” button in the bottom right corner.

Can I customize the widget name/look/color?
We do not currently offer that customization. If you have any questions or comments, please contact your customer success manager.
