Customizing the Shop Now Experience in Your Route Returns Portal

By default, the Shop Now screen in your Route Returns portal shows every collection in your Shopify store. This gives your customers a wide selection to choose from when exchanging a product, but sometimes, less is more.

Whether you want to simplify the interface, highlight seasonal collections, or focus on specific product categories, Route makes it easy to tailor what customers see during the exchange flow.

Here’s how to customize it:

Step-by-Step: Curate Your Shop Now View

To customize the collections or products that show up in Shop Now, you’ll set up a special menu in your Shopify Admin. Here’s how:

  1. Log into your Shopify Admin.
  2. Go to Content > Menus.
  3. Click Create Menu.
  4. Name the menu exactly this:

    (Don’t worry: capitalization doesn’t matter, but the spelling needs to be exact!)

  5. Add the collections and/or products you'd like to feature in the Shop Now section.
  6. Click Save.

That’s it! 🎉 Your Shop Now view will now update automatically to show only the items from your new menu.


🤔 What Will Customers See?

Once your custom menu is set up, your Shop Now screen will be neatly curated with the collections or products you selected. In addition to your tailored navigation, customers will also still see:

  • Recommended for Customer - Smart suggestions based on their original purchase.
  • 🔎 All Products - A complete browse-all option, just in case.

This way, you keep things focused and flexible.
