Create a Workflow That Makes a Specific Product Collection Final Sale

Route Returns makes it easy to control which products are eligible for return through customizable workflows. If you want to mark certain products as final sale—meaning they can't be returned—you can create a simple workflow based on their Shopify Product Collection. Follow the steps below to set this up:

 

Step 1: Navigate to the Workflows Section

  1. Log in to your Route Returns dashboard.
  2. On the left-hand menu, click Workflows.
  3. Once you're in the Workflows page, click the Add Workflow button in the upper right corner.

Step 2: Name Your Workflow

  1. Give your workflow a name that clearly describes its purpose (e.g., “Final Sale - No Returns”).
  2. Optionally, add a description so you and your team understand what this workflow does at a glance (e.g., “Prevents returns for items in the Final Sale collection”).

Step 3: Set the Workflow Condition

  1. Under the Condition section, choose Product Collection from the dropdown.
  2. Then select either:
    • is one of (to include multiple collections), or
    • equals (if you're targeting a single collection).
  3. In the List of Text field, enter the name(s) of the Shopify collection(s) that you want to make final sale.
    Example: If you have a collection called “Final Sale,” enter that as the collection name.

Step 4: Select the Action

  1. In the Action dropdown, choose Item Ineligible for Return.

This action will ensure that any products included in the collection(s) you specified will automatically be marked as ineligible for return in Route Returns. Customers will see these items flagged as final sale during the return process.]

Step 5: Save Your Workflow

Click Save to activate the workflow.
Once saved, Route Returns will automatically enforce this rule for any items in the designated collection(s).

 

🔔 Pro Tip:

If you ever update your Shopify collections, be sure to check your workflows in Route Returns to confirm they still apply to the correct products.

That’s it! You’ve now successfully created a workflow to make products in a specific collection final sale and ineligible for return.
