If you are using a 3PL or Fulfillment system with Shopify or BigCommerce, follow the steps below to ensure these systems work correctly with Route.
Note: This only applies to Shopify and BigCommerce because they list Route as a Product and not a fee.
- After the Route app is installed, create a test or draft order
- Track the order through to fulfillment
- If Route is properly fulfilled in Shopify or BigCommerce, everything is working!
-
If the order will not process, work with your Fulfillment System or 3PL to resolve using one of the following strategies:
- Blacklist Route
- Mark Route as a digital product
How to Blacklist Route from your 3PL/Fulfillment System
Blacklisting involves defining which SKU’s should be blocked from entering their ERP/WMS.
Connect with the person/team who manages your 3PL or Fulfillment system and have them follow these steps:
- Log in to your 3PL or Fulfillment system
-
Upload the Route Product SKUs
- For Shopify, download the Route Product SKUs (ROUTEINS10 - ROUTEINS85)
- For BigCommerce, use the SKU: ROUTEINS
- Blacklist all of the SKUs to your 3PL or Fulfillment system
**If the order happens and Route doesn't show as fulfilled a day later, it's blocked somehow**
How to Mark Route as a Digital Product
This involves marking Route as a digital product like an E-gift card. E-gift cards are NON-Shippable, NON-Inventory items.
- Mark all of the SKUs as digital products that are non-shippable goods to your 3PL or Fulfillment system
- For Shopify, use these instructions under the section, Disable shipping for a digital product
- For BigCommerce, use these instructions
Note: In Shopify, there is no SKU requirement. You can empty the default SKU Route adds or replace it with anything you wish to set. Additionally, you can even set all SKUs to be ROUTEINS, so you only have to blacklist/match 1 SKU.
