I can’t connect my bank account or credit card in the Merchant Portal

As a reminder, we need your banking information for two weekly transactions: When we collect the Shipping Protection premiums your customers add to their orders, and when we pay you back for any customer refunds or reorders processed directly through your store. 

You must set up your Payment Account and your Reimbursement Account in the Merchant Portal to enable these transactions. Please use this article if you are having trouble adding your bank account or credit card information to either account.

PAYMENT ACCOUNT ISSUES

Bank Account
Route allows merchants to instantly verify their bank account via Stripe, our billing software. If you are unable to find your bank or the verification process fails, please select the option to “Enter bank details manually.” You will be required to verify your bank via micro-deposits before your account is properly set up. If you are an international merchant, you will be unable to use a bank account unless you use a U.S.-based bank and have a U.S. address for your business. If you do not fit those criteria, you must use a credit card. 

Stripe may be blocking the transaction. Please send a voided check to billing@route.com and our accounting team will handle the rest.

Your bank may be blocking the transaction. You may need to contact your bank to white list our billing software, Stripe Payments Company, using the following two IDs: 1800948598 and 4270465600.

You may have insufficient funds available. Please replenish your funds, and try again.

REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT ISSUES

Bank Account
Domestic merchants should double check the bank account number and routing number, and try again. 

International merchants cannot select a bank account for reimbursements. To receive reimbursements, you must select PayPal or wire transfer. Learn more about these options and the transaction and currency exchange rate fees associated.

Please double check all your information, and try again, or contact PayPal for support.

Wire Transfer
Please double check that the routing number was entered correctly. For any additional questions or support, contact your bank directly.
