Enabling Product Recommendations at Checkout (Shopify)

What are product recommendations?

Merchants can generate new revenue streams by adding personalized product recommendations at each stage of the post-purchase experience. Shoppers can view, interact, and click on product recommendations sending them back to the merchant's site and encouraging an additional purchase. These product recommendations are only available to merchants on Shopify & BigCommerce.

  • Email - Tracking Emails
  • Mobile App Tracking Experience
  • Checkout (Shopify only)
  • Web App

Settings on Merchant Portal

To modify your Engage product you will need to do the following:

    1. login into the merchant portal at dashboard.route.com
    2. Choose engage from the left pane
    3. Navigate to Product Recommendations or Product Catalog tab of the Engage page.
  1. Product Recommendations tab lets you enable or disable a placement, change the recommendation method for any placement, update the feature, and backup products for manual method and many other configurations
  2. Product Catalog tab lets you view their product catalog and exclude or include any product from the recommendations

How to add in Shopify

  1. From your Shopify Admin account, click Settings.
  2. Click Checkout

  1. Scroll down to the Post-purchase page section

  1. Select the Route App
  2. Click Save

  3. Lastly, go to the Product Recommendations Settings in the Route Merchant Portal and ensure the “End of Checkout Recommendations” touch point is turned on. Please note this is for Shopify only.
